The Supernatural franchise is concluding, at least temporarily, as The Winchesters has been unable to secure a second season on any platform. Warner Bros. Television, the production studio, has been unsuccessful in its attempts to find another network or streaming service for the Supernatural prequel series after its cancellation by the CW. Despite the dedicated efforts of series executive producer (and Supernatural star) Jensen Ackles and the strong #SaveTheWinchesters campaign, all options have been exhausted, and the search for a new home has officially ended.

The Winchesters, a prequel to the popular show Supernatural, will not be returning for a second season on The CW. This news was not unexpected as the network's new ownership has been focusing on lower-cost scripted and unscripted programming, primarily international acquisitions and co-productions, to increase profitability.
As of now, only the network's strongest scripted series, All American and Walker, have been renewed for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, the three least likely shows, including The Winchesters, have been cancelled. Superman & Lois and All American: Homecoming are still in limbo, with a slim chance of being renewed, followed by Gotham Knights.
