Loved this show so much! Please bring back season 2! My best friend would be great for this show, how do we go about nominating someone?! Lots of lessons, teachable moments, and fun casting with the grannies too! GREAT SHOW!
The Great Soul Food cook off was an amazing show. Kadesa Brown was excellent as the spokesperson. The show brought tears to my eye when some of the contestants spoke about their backgrounds and what the meals meant to them. I hope you keep Kadesa there and bring us a season 2 soon.
This was a great show with a lot of history they brought tears to my eyes numerous times what I don't understand is how I have never heard of it I just accidentally bumped into it on HBO and I watched the entire first season I reached out to my family and none of them had ever even heard of it so I think the marketing team needs to be a little bit better I love the show the only food show that I can watch from the first episode to the end it was great let's bring it back for a few more seasons
This Show is Amazing!!!! The fact that they haven't already been renewed for at least 3 Seasons is horrible and offensive. This Show has Heart and gives you the origin and feel of what Cooking means to us as a people. Make this a teachable moment and renew this Show please!
This show was needed to show that black culture in food is ALIVE and THRIVING. It has been a long time coming. Because, the show was new it requires at least three seasons to get a large following. I have people who weren’t aware that the show existed, because it didn’t get a lot of press or coverage in tv. I pray that it is given a chance.
I enjoyed the show tremendously! I truly enjoyed the different soul food/ southern cuisines. The show brought a new twist that so many people can identify with. I love the different show of judges. Not all people are satisfied with the winners on any of the cooking shows. Let’s give something different a chance.
I haven't watched many food or cooking shows recently although I have in the past. LOVED High on the Hog Documentary, Run's House holiday meals, Christmas Cookie Bake-Off and this show. I would like to say that while I appreciated the individual critique according to a judge's particular taste that is something that should not necessarily weigh on a challenge decision. It should be overall presentation, overall taste/flavor and ingredients. Five weeks is a long time to be away from family and a business (during a pandemic) and I hope each of the chefs enjoyed their experience as much as I enjoyed recording and watching the shows each Friday.
You are crazy. Idk if you are African American or Black but she actually was the best cook based on our traditional cultural recipes. She kept it most authentic and that’s why she won [🙄
It was a good show until the end. Rewarding the wrong chef in the end. The show has run it's course. No need for another season. The other chef's did so much better than her, yet it seems as if they simply wanted her to win instead of making it an actual competition. Since they can't get that part of the show right, they can go ahead and cancel it.
Just binged watch the entire series. I felt as though it should’ve been some type of point system.. the lady that won is a great cook.. but the runner up and the the 3rd person did better throughout the competition, but that wasn’t good enough ?
I enjoyed the show, until the finale. The wrong person won. The winner made a colossal mistake, yet was rewarded for it. I’ll never eat that persons food after that mistake.
The best food program to date, just shared the show with my children. Inspiring yet episode 5 was heart wrenching. The final to see judges pray over food, thats us. To have the big mommas sealed the deal, thank you, prayerfully they'll be more seasons. Great family programming and histort.
