I like the basic idea of his shows, BUT he really seems like an idiot when he invariably stumbles across almost anything that’s even slightly different (animal-wise). In several episodes of Extinct or Alive, he without doubt scared off any animals when he was hiding in a blind (which I thought was unbelievably close to where evidence had been spotted). I mean can’t he control his talking constantly? He’s also stated he is much quieter than the support crew, but he keeps talking to them throughout the night. When and if some animal of interest appears, he tends to get highly excited and leaps out of hiding. Perhaps this type thing gets staged as no self respecting wild animal will stay in an area with a chatting human leaping around. He obviously has connections in some remote areas. I simply wish that he would grow up a lot, find some self restraint. If Forest can do these things, I think he could actually locate some rare or even undiscovered species.
This is a great concept. It explores the complex relationships between humans and the wildlife surrounding them. The part that I enjoy the most is the conflict resolution. Forrest and his entire team are clearly passionate about the work they're doing and I'm looking forward to more programming featuring this amazing group of individualsl.
