Showtime has cancelled the TV series adaptation of Let the Right One In after one season.
The decision to cancel the show is reportedly due to a new programming strategy for Showtime under the guidance of new executive Chris McCarthy[5]. Along with this series, it has also been reported that American Gigolo and Three Women have been cancelled. (Source: collider.com)

Paramount Global just announced that Showtime will be integrated into Paramount+ across both streaming and linear later this year. In preparation for the move, the premium cable network, which will be renamed as Paramount+ with Showtime, had been re-evaluating its programming slate over the past several weeks under its new top executive Chris McCarthy.
Showtime will not be proceeding with new series Three Women, starring Shailene Woodley, Betty Gilpin, DeWanda Wise and Gabrielle Creevy, which has been completed. Showtime has opted not to pick up Season 2 of two freshman drama series: Let the Right One In, starring Demián Bichir, and American Gigolo, headlined by Jon Bernthal.

Yes I seen the movie but never read the book.
I am glad it's not either one. The movie is good for what it's worth, but its not flawless. Nothing is.
The people behind this series took inspiration from the book and decided to re-imagine it. Thankfully they updated it and gave it a fresh take.
The actors are great! The chemistry is off the chart, and the action is bloody fun, and scary.
-Eleanor is badass and sweet. She just wants to be normal.
-Her "best friend" and more, Isaiah who loves magic, isn't as pathetic as movie Oskar but is bullied. Loves Eleanor.
-Mark the father is guilt ridden and does anything for daughter to keep her soul clean.
Without spoiling, every episode connects, you get vampire stuff, suspense, drama, action. I recommend this series for those looking for something new from the universe of Let The Right One In.
