Joining the series are Park Gyu-young (known for Sweet Home), Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim (from Move to Heaven), Lee David (featured in The Fortress and Svaha: The Sixth Finger), Lee Jin-uk (recognized for Miss Granny and Sweet Home), Choi Seung-hyun (seen in Tazza: The Hidden Card and Commitment), Roh Jae-won (known for Missing Yoon and Ditto), and Won Ji-an (from D.P.).
These new additions will join previously announced cast members, including the return of Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man and Wi Ha-jun reprising the role of police detective Jun-ho. Additionally, Gong Yoo will also be making a comeback.
Netflix unveiled the latest lineup for Squid Game Season 2 during the Tudum global fan event held in São Paulo, Brazil. Lee Jung-jae will reprise his role as Gi-hun, while Hwang Dong-hyuk returns to direct and executive produce the highly anticipated second season, set to commence production later this year.
Joining the returning cast members are Lee Byung-hun, who will once again portray the Front Man, Wi Ha-jun, who will revisit his role as police detective Jun-ho, and Gong Yoo, who will make a comeback as well.
Additionally, the game will welcome new players, including Yim Si-wan from "Unlocked," Kang Ha-Neul from "Midnight Runners," Park Sung-hoon from "The Glory," and Yang Dong-geun from "Yaksha: Ruthless Operations."
“Squid Game” is coming back to Netflix for a second season, but fans of the smash hit drama series are going to have to wait well over a year for new episodes. Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told Vanity Fair that he predicts the next batch of episodes won’t be ready for release until the end of 2023 at the earliest. A Season 2 release in 2024 is also in the realm of possibility. (Source: variety.com)
