The acting was ok in some cases. Sam Neil was there for a minute or two so that was nice, and Shioli Kutsuna did a very good job with what she was given, but some of the others not so much. Golshifteh Farahani is a very beautiful woman but she seems to have one expression for every situation from emotional pain, to terror to lust to confusion - well it always looks like confusion.
Overall it took a long time for me to stop making fun of it and start actually getting into the story - probably about 7 or 8 episodes. I kept watching because I'm a sucker for a sci-fi alien invasion even if badly done. Will I watch the second season? Maybe. But it will be more in a Mystery Science Theater way.I
