Warrior Nun was canceled by Netflix after two seasons but thanks to support from fans the series will return as a trilogy of movies.
Executive Producer Dean English took to social media to announce the streamer had picked up three films based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn.
English acknowledged the strikes in Hollywood involving actors and writers and was limited to what he could say about the films.

After a prolonged battle to renew Warrior Nun for a third season, the show's creative team was successful but the series will not return to its original home.
Per Entertainment Weekly, it was confirmed that Warrior Nun Season 3 will not premiere on Netflix, the streaming service which originated the fan-favorite series. At the time of writing, it's currently unknown which platform is responsible for saving the show as showrunner Simon Barry has kept many of the details of the situation vague. The series boss thanked fans for their continued support, simply promising that the next installment in the Warrior Nun franchise will be "more epic" than fans are expecting.

Warrior Nun‘s second season ratings performance follows the pattern of other scripted series which have been canceled by Netflix as the streamer evaluates viewing vs. cost for their renewal decisions. Season 2 spent just three weeks in Netflix’s Weekly Top 10 for English-language series, peaking at #5. Warrior Nun has built a small yet passionate fan base, which helped it secure a second season renewal but was not enough to sustain the series in the long run.
