General information and cast
The Australian comedy series The Ex-PM originally premiered on the network ABC Australia on October 14th, 2015 with six episodes for its very first season. Since then the show was renewed for a second installment, which finally premiered after a long two-year hiatus on October 25th, 2017 with six brand new episodes. The Ex-PM hails from the production company Cordell Jigsaw Productions and is executive produced by Andrew Gregory, Rick Kalowski, Nick Murray and Shaun Micallef, who is also the show’s creator and lead cast.
Andrew Dugdale is a former Australian prime minister, who is used to a certain lifestyle. After all, he once dined with presidents, kings at world summits and was in charge of Millions of Australians. However, since he no longer holds this position, he now feels the boredom kicking in and he doesn’t know what to do with himself. When he blows an advance for his memoires without actually bringing anything to paper, Dugdale has no choice but to accept ghostwriter Ellen and bring her into his house – and somewhat dysfunctional family. Unfortunately, Ellen has to find out very quickly that it won’t be an easy task to write the memoires for this man.
