As of today, Hit The Road scores meek 5.5 out of 10 stars on IMDb and a 41% approval rating on Metacritic, whilst Rotten Tomatoes has it currently listed at 56%. It doesn’t particularly look like there is a huge interest in this series, which is a bit of a shame, as this show definitely has potential. General information and cast
Created by Jason Alexander, Peter Tilden and Dean Craig, the brand new American comedy Hit The Road premiered on Audience Network on October 17th, 2017 with ten half-hour episodes for its very first season. The show hails from the production company Fabrik Entertainment and Primary Wave Entertainment and is executive produced by David Guillod, Bart Peters, Shane Elrod, Mark Burg as well as the series’ creators Alexander, Tilden and Craig. The cast features Jason Alexander as Ken Swallow and Amy Pietz as Meg Swallow, the parents, and Natalie Sharp as Ria, Nick Marini as Alex, Tim Johnson Jr. as Jermaine and Maddie Dixon-Poirier as Casey, their children.
Not your average family, the Swallows fancy themselves as big rock stars and everything they do aims at the big break through. Obviously, not all of their decisions have the family’s best interest at heart, but they more than determined to make this happen and earn their place in the history of music. Abandoning the comfort of a home, privacy and even self-respect, the Swallows travel the country in a tiny tour bus on their quest for fortune and fame.
