The brand new scripted comedy television series The Comedy Get Down premiered on the network BET on October 12th, 2017 for its very first season. The show hails from the production companies 3 Arts Entertainment and Free 90 Media and is executive produced by Tom Brunelle, Kimberly Carver, Eric Rhone, Michael Rotenberg, Greg Walter and Brad Wollack. The world famous comedians George Lopez, D.L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin and Charlie Murphy are all featured on the show.
Picture a massive stand-up comedy tour across the country with five of the biggest comedians and everything that has to go into such a huge production. The new BET series The Comedy Get Down is the first scripted comedy show that will take the viewers behind the scenes of such a tour. The five men featured in this comedy are some of the most successful and most famous comedians to date and most of the viewers will have seen them on stage with their hilarious, sometimes insane and always unapologetic performances. But when they are stepping off that stage – that is when the real fun begins. Based on real and actual events, the series features some outrageous storylines as the viewers get an intimate look into the personal as well as professional relationships of these comedy titans and the way they deal with all kinds of challenges in their lives.
