General information and cast
The brand new reality television comedy series 50 Central premiered on the American network BET on September 27th, 2017 with 24 thirty-minute episodes for its very first season. The show hails from the production companies Black Entertainment Television (BET), G-Unit Film & Television in partnership with Back Roads Entertainment and features rapper, actor and entrepreneur Curtis Jackson – better known as 50 Cent – as the host of this late night comedy series. Michael A. Blum, Ian Gelfand, Riley Robbins, Stephen J. Savva, Simone Shepherd and the host himself serve as executive producers.
The super successful rapper presents a strong cast of up-and-coming comedians, as they are trying out their jokes and comedic performances on the audience. Here, not only the usual stand-up comedy is used, but also sketches and even hidden camera pranks on unsuspecting targets – anything goes to get that laugh. There are also musical guests and performances in each episode. The series aims to appeal to a younger audience and tries to promote fresh new comedy talent.
