What makes this show immediately stand out is the sheer scale of everything! Winning prizes is nothing big in game shows on TV and some have truly impressive grand prizes, but a house on a plot of land is definitely something truly amazing. Not only that, but the fact that the participating couples actually have to stay within these renovation projects during these overhauls – that certainly puts another very different spin on the series. The original Canadian version receives an overall rating of 5.9 out of 10 stars on IMDb, so hopefully the show will kick off just as successful as it has done in the neighboring country. As of today, the network has not yet announced the possible future of this show, so stay tuned and we will keep you updated if and when Game of Homes returns with season 2.
General information and cast
Originally, the brand new Canadian reality TV series Game Of Homes debuted back in 2015 on W Network, but now has premiered in the US on the American network Discovery Family on September 6th, 2017 for its very first season. The show hails from the production company Great Pacific Media and is executive produced by Kelly McClughan, Mark A. Miller and Bill Gaudsmith. The host of the series is Cameron Mathison.
Imagine winning a house. And the land to go with it. This is not a joke – this is the grand prize of the latest Canadian-American reality TV series aptly named Game of Homes. Four teams of couples have to compete in a renovation contest, during which they are assisted by a contractor. Every couple will receive a tear-down house, which was moved to a common construction site (What an undertaking!). They will then have to work with a weekly assigned budget, deadline and overcome other challenges whilst renovating a specific room or rooms. The judges are professionals from the design and construction industry, who will then evaluate the work done and name the winning couple. Once the overhaul of the house is done and it is named the overall best renovation, the couple may not only keep their house, but they will also receive the plot of land for them to put it.
