General information and cast
The brand new reality automobile TV series Gear Dogs premiered on the American network Discovery Channel on September 4th, 2017 for its very first season. The show hails from the production company Coolfire Studios and is executive produced by Graham Hughes. The main face in this new car series is Nate Boyer, a bearded total car guy with one very big aspiration – helping budding mechanics and at the same time expanding his mod business.
So Boyer opens up a community garage and calls it The Doghouse. His hot rot and car restauration shop Kultured Customs is his other business concept, where six-figure custom vehicles are built. The idea is to bring these guys together in The Doghouse, where they can bring their skills to the test, when they customize beautiful cars such as a '67 Plymouth Belvedere, 1980 Jeep Honcho and a 1956 Chevy Nomad. Nate calls his boys “Dogs”, as they use all his equipment, know-how and space to create their amazing cars. In return he will receive a cut from their profits after these babies are sold. The question is, if Nate can manage to deal with unfamiliar personnel and balance both shops at the same time.
