Despite very strong overall ratings of 7.8 out of 10 stars on IMDb, whopping 8.4 out of 10 stars on TV.com and 72% on Rotten Tomatoes (with 84% of viewers actually liking the show) – Episodes is coming to an end after this current fifth season. This was already announced long before the latest season debut, as Matt LeBlanc himself tweeted about it on his personal Twitter account over a year ago. The network confirmed this last year and as critics praise the performance of the incredibly talented actors, Episodes will end after the season 5 finale, which is slated to air on October 1st, 2017.

General information and cast
Created by David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik, the British-American comedy Episodes originally premiered on Showtime in the US and on BBC Two in the UK in January 2011. Since then, the series was renewed for overall five seasons, with the latest and final fifth installment debuting on August 20th, 2017 with seven episodes. The show hails from the production companies Hat Trick Productions, Crane Klarik, Showtime Networks and British Broadcasting Corporation and is executive produced by the series’ creators Crane and Klarik as well as Jimmy Mulville. The strong cast includes Matt LeBlanc as himself, the amazing Tamsin Greig as Beverly Lincoln and Stephen Mangan as Sean Lincoln. Kathleen Rose Perkins, John Pankow, Mircea Monroe and Joseph May also star.
Episodes tells the story of the fictionalized (!) arrogant Matt LeBlanc, a wealthy and successful actor, who is cast for an American sitcom that is based on a very popular British television series. The couple that created the show has no idea what they are in for, when this American actor mixes up their original show into what he wants, which turns out to be a terrible cliché. The tension between all that are involved is almost palpable.
