Shot On-Location in Los Angeles, the Epicenter of Food Truck Culture, Eight-Episode Season Premieres Sunday, June 18th at 8pm ET/PT on Food Network
For the first time in the show’s history, The Great Food Truck Race is pitting industry pros against talented up-and-coming rookies in a David vs. Goliath battle of the best food on wheels.
Hosted by Tyler Florence, nine teams from across the country with specialties ranging from Jamaican tacos to modern Pakistani street food to elevated vegan dishes must prove their culinary expertise, marketing savvy and selling skills in action-packed challenges to beat their rivals and stay in the race. Los Angeles has long led the food truck movement, and this season’s action takes place right in the center of the industry’s booming business.
Is there a list of places that the food trucks will be at. It would be great to be there and eat off the trucks. To know the schedule of where they park would be great. I this way if you are I going to be in a city near me I could go and support the food trucks. Please let me know. Thank you. Best always, Dee
I believe that there should be some sort of boundaries for etiquette between food trucks. It's really an example of the decay of civility in America that 'dirty pool' and bad sportsmanship gets rewarded on this show. A lot of the hicks that run these trucks behave like jerks and are downright mean - and enjoy it!! Shame on you Food Network for allowing and condoning this behavior?.
GFTRace needs to monitor|limit prices. Lime Truck charged ridiculously high prices and won. Keep this up and you squeeze out many food trucks who cater to people who aren’t wealthy (most of us). Very disappointed in this season because the Lime Truck obviously brought in high rollers.
There is 2 food trucks, soon to be 4 called the Rollin Rooster, in Rutland Vermont, they also have a restaurant and bakery called the Clucking Cafe in Pittsford Vermont, it is the best chicken. Their 15 year old daughter also has a dessert food truck. You need to check them out for a new episode or even their own show
Tumblr on the Boardwalk had a good requirement to use crab meat in a new way and then sell your product. The vegan team chose NOT to use the REQUIRED good item! They should have been eliminated! This is a competition and if they are ALLOWED to NOT use a REQUIRED good then ALL the team's should be able to pick and choose what foods they don't want to use in competition also! Fair is fair!
My niece competed in the food network food truck race and they are vegan. If that crab was a challenge then they would probably lose the challenge. This is a sales based competition. They got hit by a truck that took away two hours of their selling time. There was no compensation. It’s part of the curve of the game.
Great Food Truck Race Hits the Beach??????!!!!! Uh, South and North Padre Island not good enough? Come on!!! Your ad got me all excited when I read "Hits the Beach", then my enthusiasm came crashing down and my heart ripped out with enormous disappointment.
