MTV Undressed is certainly an extreme form of dating, but as drastic as it seems, in this day and age it is somewhat refreshing to go – well – back to the roots again, literally. However, the allotted time of just 30 minutes might be a little short to actually focus on the person in front of you, given that they are naked and all. The concept is definitely entertaining and with more and more naked reality television shows popping up all over the TV, this one might be here to stay. Previous other television models of the same premise have proven to be successful, so we will have to wait and see. So far, MTV has not yet released any official statement regarding the future of the show. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated if and when MTV Undressed returns with season 2.
General information and cast
Not to be confused with the eponymous anthology series that aired on MTV from 1999 to 2002, this brand new reality television show of the same name premiered on MTV on August 16th, 2017 with 16 episodes. The show hails from the production company Bunim/Murray Productions and Kreativ, Inc and is executive produced by Gil Goldschein, Julie Pizzi and Joel Karsberg.
MTV Undressed is a new social experiment that addresses all the distractions and superficial expectation of the digital world and the next generation of daters. True to the title, two strangers must undress each other BEFORE they can sit down and get to know each other. The allotted time is 30 minutes, during which they will be asked a series of questions and they even have to perform small and simple challenges. All of the tasks are designed to find out if they will actually have a chance at romance or not. Then it goes back to the digital age and very similar to most dating sites these days, where they both have to choose to select yes or no to either pursue this new relationship or walk away.
