Move over The Voice and pack it in American Idol – a new kid is on the block… ok, let’s make that a new music competition series is on our screens and it is nothing like those mentioned here. Signed is literally rooted in the music itself and forgoes all the shiny and blingy productions of the “other” shows. Signed aims to hit the reality in the music business and doesn’t so much focus on making great television. The overall ratings somewhat confirm this, as they are somewhere in the middle of the road scoring 5.9 out of 10 stars on IMDb. As of today, VH1 has yet to announce the future of the show, so stay tuned and we will keep you updated if and when Signed returns to our screens with season 2.
General information and cast
The brand new reality music TV series Signed premiered on the American channel VH1 on July 26th, 2017 with six episodes for its very first season. The show hails from the production company VH1 Television and features the three judges – or as they are referred to here – the three “Moduls” Lenny S., Rick Ross and The Dream.
These three guys all have an extensive background in Music and now they try to filter out the weak from the strong and get a new artist signed up for a new career. However, neither of them is gonna make it easy for any of the contestants and as singer, song writer and producer The Dream, aka Terius Youngdell Nash, together with Rick Ross, a true Boss in the hip-hop scene, and Lenny S., a music veteran in his own right, weed through the contestants, we get a good glimpse of a real music competition.
