First of all – the concept of the series is awesome as it combines two seemingly unnatural partners – reality television live action and animation for real crimes. The overall rating of 7.5 out of 10 stars would indicate a huge popularity with those watching bounty hunter shows the likes of Dog The Bounty Hunter. However, what is unexplained still to this day is the fact that from the original 10 episodes only 4 were released. The last one aired on July 20th and since then it very much seems like the show has simply vanished. So far, there is no official statement out there that clarifies the situation. Apparently, A&E has opted to not air the remaining episodes of Akil The Fugitive Hunter, but no reason has been given for this decision. At this stage, all we know is that this series is no longer in the programming schedule and has even disappeared from the official A&E website. This is obviously an odd scenario. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated if anything happens with Akil The Fugitive Hunter and the rest of season 1, let alone a possible season 2.
General information and cast
On July 13th, 2017, the reality television animation series Akil The Fugitive Hunter premiered on the channel A&E with supposedly 10 brand new half-hour episodes. The show is a surprising mash-up of reality TV and animated scenes, giving this new series an edge right off the cuff. Akil The Fugitive Hunter hails from the production company This is Just a Test Productions and the executive producers are Seth Goolnik, Myles Reiff, Wood Harris, Ty Dolla Sign, who also wrote the music for this show, and Akil Muhammad, the lead cast of this series. The show is narrated by Wood Harris.
Move over Dog! Akil The Fugitive Hunter chronicles the journey of Akil Muhammad, a bounty hunter tracking down criminals in and around Los Angeles. He is being hailed as a modern day superhero by the A&E network as he fights murderers, rapists and generally criminal people, who want to hurt others. What makes this show so special is the fact that the series uses original animations by Carl Jones to detail the stories for each case, which is then combined with live-action footage of Akil’s missions.
