General information and cast
The very first season of the reality TV series American Boyband premiered on the Viceland Network on June 8th, 2017 with eight episodes. The series is produced by VTV Productions and executive produced by Christian Clancy, Chris Grosso, Kelly Sato, Nick Weidenfeld and Kevin Abstract, who also stars as the lead in this series.
The show is based in South Central Los Angeles and follows the all American boy band “Brockhampton” with lead man Kevin Abstract, who already has a significant online following for his music and now wants to turn his online fans into real success. All the members of the band met on a Kanye West fan forum and as the show follows the guys around, it depicts how they interact with fans whilst headlining a tour across the north of America and also another side project, where they start filming Kevin’s alter ego “Helmet Boy” in action, as he is hell-bent on trying to pitch a series on the Viceland network.
