General information and cast
The very first season of the Australian comedy series Ronny Chieng: International Student premiered on the ABC Australia Network on June 7th, 2017 and it was also picked up by the American channel Comedy Central, where it will debut some time later this year. Created by Ronny Chieng and Declan Fay, the show is produced by Sticky Pictures and executive produced by Stu Connolly, Donna Andrews, Andrew Gregory and Rick Kalowski.
In this partly fictional series, comedian Ronny Chieng acts as an international law student in Melbourne, Australia. The show depicts some of his own experiences and some exaggerated adventures of Ronny Chieng, who came to the red continent to study law and make his mommy proud, which shouldn’t be too hard – if all you need to do is study and get good grades. Obviously, this being a comedy, his plan won’t work out as he expected it and things will go very wrong indeed. Ronny Chieng stars as himself, Molly Daniels as Asher, Patch May as Craig Cooper, Dave Eastgate as Mick and Hoa Xuande as Elvin.
