The documentary series States Of Undress debuted on the Viceland Network on March 30th, 2016 with six episodes and the second season premiered on June 6th, 2017 with seven episodes. Hosted by actress and model Hailey Gates, the series is produced by Vice and executive produced by Al Brown, Spike Jonze, Nomi Ernst Leidner, Eddy Moretti and Shane Smith.
Most of us link the word fashion with places like Milan, London, Paris or New York City, but Hailey Gates has other ideas. In the documentary States Of Undress, the model and actress travels to different remote locations worldwide to explore the various different standards of beauty, style and fashion. In certain countries, political and social, as well as religious views play a huge role in this subject, not to forget the issues with gender and race classifications. So, Gates takes the viewers to places like Russia, Pakistan and even the Congo to highlight certain problems, which are often ignored in the fashion industry.
