General information and cast
The first season of the reality documentary series Alaska Homicide premiered on the Network Discovery Channel on June 2nd, 2017. The series is produced by M2 Pictures and executive produced by Mike Sinclair, Chris Rowe and Matthew Vafiadis.
Alaska Homicide follows former State Trooper Lantz Dahlke, who later joined the Cold Case Unit of the Alaska Bureau of Investigation, to try to bring some justice to those many murdered and missing victims. Unfortunately, this unit was disbanded after only 18 months, which left too many of these cases unsolved. Since then, Dahlke is even more determined to dig into these crimes and find out what truly happened to these people. Alaska’s landscape is largely untouched and the missing people numbers are eerily high in this remote state. One reason may very well be, that these people wanted to disappear, but there are many others, who went missing, because someone else wanted them to, and this is where Dahlke and his long standing experience comes into play to solve the mystery of those cases.
Overall ratings and a possible season 2
The show Alaska Homicide is still very new and so far, there is not much going on in terms of ratings or even reviews. As of today, Discovery Channel has not yet made any official announcements regarding the viewing figures or the potential future of the brand new series, so we really have to wait a little while, before we can ask the all-important question, if Alaska Homicide will be renewed for a second installment or if the network might cancel it after just one season.
