UPDATED August 16, 2017: Just one month after a third series of this British sitcom finished airing, the BBC Two network has announced in the official press release that Count Arthur Strong has been cancelled – Series 4 will not be commissioned. On a bright side, the show’s writer Graham Linehan is already working on his new BBC series under the working title Motherland.

The first series of the Sitcom Count Arthur Strong premiered on the BBC Two Network with six episodes on 8th July 2013, the second switched to BBC One on 6th January 2015 with seven more episodes and the current third series started on 19th May 2017 with another set of seven new episodes. The show is produced by Komedia Entertainment and executive produced by Richard Daws, Jon Rolph, Gregor Sharp and Kate Daughton. Count Arthur Strong was created by Steve Delaney, who also plays the main title character. Rory Kinnear plays the role of Michael Baker.
Imagine a delusional grumpy old man, who once was in show business as the famous Count Arthur Strong and now finds it hard to come to terms with his no longer popular personality. Or in other words, a pompous unemployed actor from Doncaster. The son of his former comedy partner is now helping him write down his life story in his memoires. What makes this comedy a little more special is the fact that some episodes of the show were actually filmed in front of a live audience.
The overall solid rating of 7.5 out of 10 stars on IMDb definitely indicates, that the series is very popular amongst the viewers and with already three seasons under its belt it’s safe to say, that by now, Count Arthur Strong has built up a strong fan base. On top of that, the comedy show was nominated for various different British Awards, including multiple BAFTAs.
