UPDATED September 21, 2017: Three months after the new EastEnders spinoff finished its debut 6-episode run, the BBC network officially confirmed that Kat and Alfie: Redwater has been cancelled and will not be back with Series 2. The most frustrating thing for the fans regarding the cancellation is that the finale of Redwater ended with a huge cliffhanger and now fans are dying to learn the Moons’ fate. Hopefully, BBC will think of some creative resolution for that.

The first season of the EastEnders spinoff show Kat and Alfie: Redwater premiered on BBC One with six episodes on May 18th, 2017. The drama series is produced by Radio Telefis Éireann (RTÉ), British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Television and Element Pictures and executive produced by Elizabeth Kilgarriff and Dominic Treadwell-Collins. The famous EastEnders couple Kat and Alfie Moon are played by the original cast Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie.
One of the biggest soaps in Britain, Eastenders has been on TV since 1985 and has produced over 5500 episodes so far. Kat and Alfie Moon are one of the most prominent people in this soap opera, which is set in the fictional Walford in the East End of London. In this spinoff series, Kat and Alfie now leave Walford behind and move to Redwater. The reason behind this is Luke, Kat’s long lost son, whom she gave up for adoption to an Irish family 32 years ago. The couple embarks on a quest full of twists and turns to find him.
