Sky One returns to colonial Virginia for the third and final series of Sky original production, Jamestown on Friday 26 April 2019 at 9pm. Ahead of the final instalment of the trilogy this April, the first look trailer and key art have been released giving a sneak peak of what is to come. The image features Naomi Battrick returning as Jocelyn and Jason Flemyng returning as Governor Yeardley. (Source: skygroup.sky)

British series producers don’t feel the need to keep series going on for ever and ever. It’s not necessarily about funding. They want to tell a good story and let it end before everything goes to pot.

I love British programming, but there never seems to be adequate resources to continue series that I enjoy. Makes it hard to commit to watching in the first place. Sounds like the cancellation was unexpected.

I watch in the US and I really loved how history was being played correctly. My suspicion for the cancellation is the storyline that was being presented for Season 4; slavery. The governor had bequeathed Pedro and Maria to his children and he wanted Dr. Christopher Priestley to be his witness. He also was going to have the Pumnkeys killed; see where this is going. This is the year of primaries in the US. One starts spinning the story of Indians and Negroes by the hands of white people and not pleasant dialogue. This just my theory; by the way I am speaking from a personal point of view. My ancestors are from all sides of this situation. Welcome to America!

Live in the US. One show my husband and I watch together and really enjoy. What a shame it is being cancelled. We are looking forward to watching season 3 which I guess is the last. ?

Wow.. this was the worst ending to a TV show I have seen in years.. it was going along nicely with some great story lines to be explored then BOOM.... the last episode was all over the place trying to tie up the loose ends. VERY DISAPPOINTED that they did this.. what a [censored]py way to end an amazing journey.

Have to say the end was rank bad.
It made me think the budget had run out, and everything needed to be wrapped up in 10 minutes.
The graphics at the end were an outrageous cop-out for a decent series.
