Dick Wolf’s NBC roster
The first season of the crime series called Chicago Justice premiered on the NBC Channel with thirteen episodes on March 5th, 2017. Part of Dick Wolf’s Chicago Franchise, which includes Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med and Chicago Justice, the series is produced by Wolf Films and Universal Television and executive produced by Michael Brandt, Michael S. Chernuchin, Arthur W. Forney and Derek Haas, to name just a few. For the main characters the cast is Philip Winchester as Peter Stone, Jon Seda as Antonio Dawson, Joelle Carter as Laura Nagel, Monica Barbaro as Anna Valdez and Carl Weathers as Mark Jefferies.
Chicago Justice revolves around a dedicated team of prosecutors and investigators in the city’s State’s Attorney’s Office as they navigate the controversial world of politics and justice. More often than not, the high profile cases they are dealing with attract a lot of media attention, which means that State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies and his team, Assistant Peter Stone and Investigators Antonio Dawson and Laura Nagel have to tread carefully not upset the balance of public opinion, hidden power struggles and the law.
The newest franchise member didn’t make the cut
Surprisingly enough, all other three parts of this Chicago franchise were renewed for another season already, the only one being left hanging is Chicago Justice. And what’s even worse, is the fact, that this first season will also be its last. Even the overall rating of a strong 7.3 out of 10 stars on IMDb could not save the show from being axed. NBC announced on May 23, 2017 that Chicago Justice will not be renewed for Season 2.
