UPDATED October 4, 2017: The eight-episode debut chapter of the new historical drama finished airing on the Starz network on June 4th, and the network has confirmed that The White Princess isn’t getting renewed for Season 2 – the show has been officially cancelled. It is quite possible, however, that there will be a sequel to the story, so stay tuned.

The White Princess is the sequel to The White Queen, which was based on the trilogy by Philippa Gregory (The White Queen, The Red Queen and The Kingmaker's Daughter). The first season of The White Princess is based on the eponymous book, also written by Philippa Gregory, and premiered with eight episodes on April 16th, 2017 on Starz. The British-American historical mini-series is produced by Company Pictures, Playground Entertainment and Starz! and executive produced by Jamie Payne, Emma Frost, Colin Callender and Scott Huff, just to name a few.
They do say – behind every powerful man stands a strong woman. Well, with this TV drama series it seems to be true, as The White Princess tells the story of Elizabeth of York, the daughter of The White Queen, and how she is forced to marry the king of a restless 15th century England, Henry VII (not to be confused with Henry VIII, who beheaded most of his wives!) and the first Tudor king of the country. Coming from two different and feuding houses, this marriage is mostly a political arrangement and brings all the personal drama and challenges with it that a young queen has to face when taking on the crown of an entire nation. Jodie Comer plays the role of Elizabeth of York, Jacob Collins-Levy stars as Henry VII, Essie Davis as Dowager Queen Elizabeth Woodville, Vincent Regan as Jasper Tudor and Michelle Fairley as the scheming Margaret Beaufort.

like every other decent show.... canceled! i hope netflix or amazon bails the show out. history is so much more interesting than all of this other far fetched superhero garbage.
