On April 11th, 2017 the first season of a new reality documentary TV series called Unprotected premiered on the Oxygen Channel with seven episodes. The series is produced by NBCUniversal and Propagate and executive produced by Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Kevin Healey and Eric Kutner.
When in 2011 Italian Mobster Richard Cantarella turned States witness against one of the most dangerous crime families in the US, he and his whole family disappeared into the witness protection program. By now, the family started a new and very suburban life in Scottsdale, AZ, owning a car wash (Hello Breaking Bad!) and raising their two teenage sons. This transformation into a somewhat normal family and - most of all – dropping old habits isn’t always that easy, if you want to stay true yourself. This series follows the Cantarellas as they run their business, make new friends and simply live in the burbs.
