On April 7th, 2017 the first season of the reality TV series First Dates premiered on NBC with eight episodes. Narrated by the amazing Drew Barrymore, the series is produced by A Very Good Production Inc. and Shed Media and executive produced by none other than Ellen DeGeneres as well as Tim Carter, Pamela Healey, Jon Hesling and Jeff Kleeman. The show is based on the UK version with the same name, which premiered in 2013.
The title of the show is pretty self-explanatory, First Dates is literally a series of blind dates of different couples, as they share a meal together in a restaurant in Chicago. The restaurant is always the same, just the people change. After their meal together, the couples are interviewed together to find out if they would like to see each other again. With this being a reality TV series, there will obviously be some tricks and techniques involved to find out and probe deeper into the compatibility of the two candidates. And the viewers at home get their say too, as they can participate through social media voting on the couple’s chemistry and judging their interactions.
