On February 21, 2017 a brand new reality game TV series called Stranded With A Million Dollars hit our screens on MTV with 10 episodes. Produced by Music Television (MTV) and Tollbooth TV and executive produced by Kevin Lee, Peter Woronov and Ismael Soto, the new adventure competition follows 10 willing adventurers, who have to survive 40 days full of seemingly impossible challenges, which will take their toll on both – physical and mental stability.
The idea behind Stranded With A Million Dollars is that 10 people are dropped off onto an isolated island with only the clothes they are wearing. During the next 40 days, they can either work as a team or against each other – it all depends on how tough they all are and how much they can endure, because the challenges they must face are tough and the money they have right there could potentially buy them all of the amenities they would need to live comfortably. However, the prices for these items are absolutely insane (like $30,000 for a tent!) Obviously, the money spent will be deducted from the overall price money, which they then share at the end of their journey together. The fact, that no camera team but Robo-cams and drones capture the action adds to the isolation of the survivalists.
