CBC Channel Nixes Season 2 of Bellevue

On February 20th, 2017 a brand new mystery drama thriller called Bellevue hit our screens on the Canadian CBC channel with eight compelling episodes. Created by Jane Maggs and Adrienne Mitchell, who also executive produce the series together with Janis Lundman, Morwyn Brebner and lead actress Anna Paquin. Bellevue is produced by Back Alley Film Productions, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and Muse Entertainment Enterprises.
Picture the perfect little town called Bellevue, where the neighbors are neighborly and the people are simply good folk, doing right by everyone and everything. Detective Annie Ryder, played by Anna Paquin, has always been a little out of bounds with her hometown, because her brazen and intense personality doesn’t really fit with the calm and collected people in Bellevue. Things turn dark and downright eerie, when a transgender teen disappears. It quickly becomes clear that foul play was involved and Ryder now finds herself in the position where she has to find a suspect amongst the people she has known all her life. The thrilling part of the series is a mysterious person showing up from the past, who has a strange need to get into Ryder’s head with rather suspicious and unsettling answers. Shawn Doyle, Billy MacLellan, Sharon Taylor and Allen Leech also star.
So far, Bellevue has had rather neutral ratings with a middle-of-the-road 6.5 out of 10 stars on IMDb and CBC has not yet made any announcements about the future of this new drama series. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated with any news as to whether the network wants to cancel the show or if Bellevue will be renewed for Season 2.
