Without a doubt – one of the funniest TV shows on this planet! And on March 8th, 2017 Drunk History finally came out with its third series on Comedy Central. The very first episode aired in January 2015 and since then has produced 26 episodes, where the first series only contained 8 episodes compared to the now usual 9. Directed by Tom McKay and Steve Connelly, this hilarious historical comedy is produced by Comedy Central and executive produced by Lourdes Diaz, Jill Offman, Joe McVey and Andy Brererton, just to name a few. The idea for this series came from the eponymous book Drunk History by Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner, who also created the American version of this TV series. Some of the new episodes are now narrated by Jimmy Carr.
Drunk History does exactly what it says on the tin – in a nutshell, you will get a history lesson by random drunk people. Sometimes very drunk people. Yup, there is even puking involved and involuntary rolling across floors, but the slurred speeches of these voluntary drinkers will always get there in the end and we are a little bit wiser about how things actually happened back then. Or maybe not. But the absolute fun part of this hilarious series is the fact that said slurred speeches are the actual narrating voice for each episode, which is then simultaneously acted out by super famous actors in the roles of historic significant figures, such as Henry the VIII, Abraham Lincoln etc. We get to see the likes of Joe Black, Emma Bunton, Catherine Tate, Jack Whitehall and Hugh Dennis, just to name a few.
