Bakers vs Fakers is a competition reality show, which airs on the Food Network and it debuted with 8 episodes on January 25th, 2017, with season 2 premiering after a short hiatus on May 24th, 2017 with 6 episodes. The baking competition series is produced by Cakehouse Media and The Food Network and executive produced by Art Edwards, Greg Astor, Nick Briscoe and Drew Seltzer II. The show is hosted by Buddy Valastro and Lorraine Pascale.
Bakers vs Fakers is a high energy competition game show where ordinary people get to compete against professional chefs. Each episode features a faceoff between four contestants of which two people are the pros and two are amateurs. Their task will be to create the most delicious desserts, cakes and baked masterpieces they can possibly can come up with. Each show has two rounds, where bakers will be eliminated – this is the usual format of these types of competition series, but the twist with this one is the fact, that the judges won’t know who the professionals and who the home bakers are. They must judge the beautiful creations purely based on their taste and skill. At the end of each episode, the winner gets to take home a cash prize.
