About the series
This is a dating reality show with a twist. In a nutshell – the contestants need to get half-naked (down to their underwear!) BEFORE they can date. The Australian Broadcaster SBS calls this show Undressed and labels it as "a social experiment". The show is produced by the Australian Special Broadcasting Service SBS and the local Screentime and is based on the Italian format, with Jennifer Collins being the executive producer.
OK – dating a stranger for the first time is weird enough sometimes, but to then have to strip within the first 60 seconds of meeting that person for the first time, hop on a bed and answer deeply personal questions, well... let's just say, awkward isn't the word here. Surprisingly enough, having to both go through this alien experience together mostly forms an immediate bond and it actually strips the contestants of their inhibitions, presenting a much more raw and honest approach to the whole dating game. We get to see all kinds of pairings with all kinds of backgrounds, there is absolutely no judgement here. These people seemingly all fit together – on paper – and now have to find the chemistry between them. Sure, there are humiliating moments and being in your underwear can't help the situation! Emotions run high and at the end, when the contestants get to choose "Yes" or "No", if they want to see the other person again, some will get crushed in the process.
