About the series
National Geographic has added a compelling original docuseries to its current slate. Lawless Oceans hails from Wall to Wall Media and premiered on January 10, 2017. Karsten von Hoesslin presents the show and Jeremy Dear and Chris Lent act as executive producers.
The program explores issues of maritime crime, which is rampant and often goes un-investigated. The extent of the criminal acts in question ranges wildly from drug trafficking and piracy to murder. Unfortunately, none of these are uncommon, especially outside of the territorial waters where governments have no jurisdiction. In fact, the average television viewer has no clue as to how frequent and diverse these problems are, and this is the first time we can get a glimpse.
