Series information and concept
Unplugged Nation is an FYI reality series that premiered in 2015, with the second season debuting on January 7, 2017. The show hails from Blast! Films and is narrated by John Weisbarth and hosted by Jay Gruen. Nick Cory Wright, Edmund Coulthard, Liz Fine and Gena McCarthy serve as executive producers.
The concept of the series is not highly original, as it basically is a real estate-related program that portrays a family per episode viewing three prospective properties. All of the families share one significant characteristic – they have their eyes set on moving away from the city to pursue a simpler lifestyle closer to nature. Season one took the crew to Hawaii, Tennessee, Oregon and Washington states. The current second season has so far reviewed properties in California, Idaho, Arizona and Hawaii.
