Please say it isn't so!! My husband & I love both Heavy Rescue 401 & Highway thru Hell. Years ago I watched an episode of HTH because there wasn't anything else to watch, & was instantly hooked! Then I discovered HR 401, & was hooked again! I'm a 76-year-old city kid from an area of the East Coast where we don't usually get much snow, & whose experience of Canada was a few hot summer days in Ottawa. But, I am absolutely blown away by these two shows, & devastated to find out that HR 401 has been canceled! But, here I am, teary-eyed because this incredible show has been canceled. Whoever made that decision is totally nuts. Apparently the fans account for nothing. To the men & women of HR 401 & your families, know that those of us who have come to admire, respect & love you over the seasons will sorely miss your presence in our homes, & would welcome you back at any time. Discovery Canada, you need to wake up & listen to your audience!

Why would you not carry on with heavy rescue 401? It is a great show along with highway thru hell. I have not watched any kind of tv until these shows came on. They should continue with them both for it shows drivers what they go through and why they should slow down and gives insight on there painful recovery’s and what operators do to keep people safe. I’m very upset to find out they are not continuing. Is there anyway I could convince you otherwise.

To Mark Miller - Why! I thank you for seeing the potential in a show of this nature. However, what is the reason for cancelling my all time favourite TV show? There are people all over the world who watch this show. At my other home in California I watch it on The Weather Channel. Discovery.ca, with due respect, has a lineup of (in my opinion) dud shows about rusty cars, Alaskan off the grid stuff, gold prospecting (yawn) etc. Heavy Rescue 401, Highway Thru Hell, and Deadliest Catch are the only Discovery shows I watch. The show is so relatable, the cast "real salt of the earth Canadians", the situations that they have to problem solve and the dangers they face - all make for compelling viewing. If there is any chance whatsoever to bring back a new season of Heavy Rescue 401 PLEASE give it serious consideration - especially after what I suspect will be the dismal failure of some of the new shows in the lineup for this year (none of them are of the slightest interest to me). Thank you.

Sad day this great show is ending. Trucked thru that region years ago, and fortunate not having to use them, but spoke with many truckers who totally appreciated these stars of the highway. Going to really miss watching this show. It's really too bad that some executive someplace makes short sighted decisions that effects all the millions of viewers across the world.

Back in the eighty's I drove heavy wreckers at one on the shops i was a mechanic at. No Rotators, no 75 Ton or larger, a Lot of Holmes. A few Hydraulic Challengers. Same wrecks though. Seems to me trailers were a lot weaker back then. Used air bags a lot. Even used the bags and plywood to get a 737 back on the runway one spring evening. On both shows, my Wife sits there slack jawed as she remembers some of my stores...... and see's what the public has never seen before. Other that crab fishing and aircraft carrier deck operations, It IS one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

Why cancel a good show , I live in Tasmania and we dont have good shows like this , I always look forward for the day its on tv and cant wait to live stream it , All the good shows seem to get canceled what a waste , shame on the money hungry executives who cancel good true too life shows

My wife and I have enjoyed both Highway Thru Hell and Heavy Rescue 401 since they started. Although the two programs are similar there are obvious distinct differences. Certainly driving through the mountains of BC is a different challenge to the 401, but the numbers of drivers and their errors on the 401 is significant, which creates its own problems. I have driven many kms on all of the 400 series highways and at times have experienced delays due to some of the accidents that have been shown on the show. I understand that programming people must make decisions regarding shows that are seen on their networks, but it seems that sometimes cancelling a popular show is the wrong decision. As for people who do not enjoy the show; don't watch it.

I used to be a long haul driver and have driven the 401 all of it. I love to watch this show. It shows so much of the reality of what truckers deal with on a daily basis. No matter the weather we still have to get out their and drive.

The tow companies plus OPP do and amazing job of keeping the highways moving. This show has great watching and I fail to understand why Discovery is removing this from tv. Another great show removed off the tv. TV is getting useless.

Please don't cancel Heavy Rescue 401!!! Love watching how crazy those drivers are in the GTA & the situations they get into by not knowing how to drive in the winter. I've been to Toronto & the GTA in the winter and have seen first hand how they drive on the highways with fresh snow - scary! I'm from Manitoba and we get a ton more snow but most of us tend to drive to conditions.
I'd just like to know why HR401 wasn't renewed past season 7 - it's such a goo & interesting show. :(((:

There is already a new season of Highway through Hell, starting as we speak, I believe season 14.The problem is the storms in November washed out majority of the highways around where Jamie Davis and the guys operate. The Kocahalla (spelling wrong)hey has been destroyed . But I would love nothing more to see heavy rescue 401 continue are used to plow snow on the 401 until moving to Virginia 10 years ago so I know what these guys go through. Mind you we watch it on the weather channel here in the US. I know you guys watching on discovery channel back home. I’m not sure how far behind we are from discovery airing it in Canada. Typical of discovery just continuing to show that actually gets viewers, please seem to be pretty good at cancelling shows that have high ratings..

I love watching this show. I am so amazed at the talent of the tow truck drivers are in how they can figure out the best way to remove the wreckage without further damage. Also they are so brave risking their lives. I look forward to watching the show every week. Don’t cancel this show it’s one of the best.

I’m very disappointed Heavy Rescue 401 is being cancelled! So few really interesting programs in TV. This and HRH are so interesting and captivating. Why cancel a good honest reality show. It’s fascinating to see what goes on in the highways. And why don’t the OPP I force speed limits while they are working? Please don’t cancel this. One reason I watch Discovery.

You can NEVER do a spinoff from a classic like Highway Thru Hell and expect it to be as good.....it just isn't. I watch them both because they're Canadian but sorry to bruise your egos but the west totally blows away the east in comparison!

I would like to know why Heavy Rescue 401 is being discontinued, as it and Highway through Hell are the main reasons I watch Discovery. Will there be some similar replacement? Will HTH also be cancelled? I would like to know as I am switching from Satellite to Streaming and have to decide what channels to choose.

Heavy Rescue 401 is so much better than Highway Thru Hell. I call that show the Jamie Davis show. At least HR401 covers so many more tow companys. Please bring it back and get rid of Highway Thru Hell.

Heavy Rescue 401 is the most entertaining show on tv right now. I do hope it continues; Especially with Colin and his Dad. These people are putting their lives at risk with amazing rescues and retreivals of vehicles. They are amazing to watch.

Really enjoy this show. Gives a great picture of what goes on behind the scenes of towing and what the crews go through.
Just one request, turn down the music. At times it is so loud you cannot hear what the crew are saying.
