Animal Planet and Robert Redford presented a new ocean conservation-themed docuseries Ocean Warriors on December 4, 2016. The series is a product of collaboration between Sundance Productions, Animal Planet, Brick City TV and Vulcan Productions, with Redford, Laura Michalchyshyn, Paul Allen, Carole Tomko, Jody Gottlieb, Rocky Collins, Mark Benjamin, Marc Levin, Erin Wanner and Liz Bronstein serving as executive producers.
The show aims to provide an insightful look at the problems that threaten the ocean today, and the possible ways of dealing with them and restoring the health of the ocean. The consequences of poaching, the destruction of rare species and coral reefs and the extreme contamination of certain regions of the ocean across the world are examined through the actual work of scientists, nature activists and journalists on various missions around the globe.
