Dead Set on Life is a US reality television series that premiered in July 2016 on the Viceland network, with the second season following not far behind, released on October 27, 2016. Season 3 of Dead Set on Life came out on April 6, 2017. Vice Studio Canada is behind the production of the show, which is written and directed by Paul Kell, and executive produced by Lauren Cynamon, Patrick McGuire and Tania Natscheff.
Dead Set on Life a culinary travel show fronted by the heavily-tattooed Canadian bad boy chef and restaurateur Matty Matheson, famous for his past drug and alcohol-infused antics. Following a very real heart attack he has gradually changed, and is now an adherent of a very different lifestyle, a sober happily married man and a first-time dad to a baby boy. But Matty's explosive personality has not gone anywhere, and besides his travels around Canada in search of interesting dishes in different communities – from lobster fishermen in Nova Scotia to Filipinos in Winipeg – the show features his outlook on life, which is the greatest attraction.
