Upper Middle Bogan is an Australian comedy series broadcast on ABC AU since 2013. Its eight-episode third series began airing on October 12, 2016 after a two-year hiatus. Created, written and executive produced by Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope, the show is produced by Gristmill with Debbie Lee and Geoff Porz also on the executive producing team.
Two unlikely blood-related families are at the center of the narrative. Bess (Annie Maynard) and Danny are a well-to-do doctor and architect duo who are raising their 13-year old twins in an upper-middle inner-city suburb of Melbourne. Following up on the results of Bess' overbearing mother Margaret's (Robyn Nevin) blood tests, Bess is shocked to learn that she herself was adopted, and is even more stunned when she meets her birth family – Wayne (Glenn Robbins) and Julie (Robyn Malcolm) Wheeler and three sisters, who are a very different bunch.
