About the series
Asian Provocateur is a BBC Three original comedy that has been on the air since 2015. Executive produced by Emily Hudd and Ian Wimbush and hailing from Rumpus Media, the current second series debuted on October 12, 2016.
The first series of the show follows comedian Romesh Ranganathan as he is attempting to connect to his roots in Sri Lanka after his (real-life) mother Shanti sends him off to the country of his ancestors. Ranganathan intimately experiences Sri Lankan life on a “what if” premise, namely, what if his parents hadn't emigrated. He goes on religious pilgrimages, tries out Ayurvedic medicine, and undertakes other unique adventures to explore the land of his ancestors.
