To be honest, it is quite a surprise to see a factual documentary detailing the operations of one airline to be enjoying ratings success during a second series in a row, but that's indeed the case. Ready for Takeoff is an Australian docuseries that concentrates entirely on different aspects of functioning of the Australian airline Qantas, which funds the production of the show itself. It is produced by Fremantle Media Australia, debuted in October 2015, and proceeded to air its second series on Nine Network on October 7, 2016.

This fly-on-the-wall exploration of what the working days of various Qantas workers are like features practically ever professional – from pilots and stewards to customer service agents, compliance agents and engineers. From the most routine tasks to a rare occurrence of launching a new pilot uniform, which requires a fashion parade with sixty male and female pilots walking the runway, the viewers are treated to a behind-the-scenes glance at the life of a company that we would never see otherwise. There's a bit of romance, a drunk passenger, a passenger who has suffered a heart attack on board... while there's nothing you couldn't have imagined, it's a rather intriguing portrayal.
