About the show

A new WE tv reality series, My Life Is a Telenovela was launched on October 7, 2016 with an eight-episode freshman season. The show is executive produced by Suzanne Gladstone, Lauren Pollack-Gellert, David Stefanou, Jerry Carita, Rick de Oliveira, Todd Lubin, Jay Peterson, Suzanne Murch and Megan Sanchez Warner. The series is produced by Matador Content.

The Miami-set series details the spectacular lives of the stars of the Spanish-language soap operas, a.k.a. telenovelas, an enormously popular genre airing mainly on the Telemundo network. The actors' truly dramatic lives can compete with the telenovela plots in intensity and passion both on and off camera. The actors featured in the series are very popular within the Latino community, yet mostly unfamiliar to the English-speaking viewers.

It totally SUCKS that they aren't making this show anymore. Perhaps because of the title, many people thought the show applied only to Cuban/Mexican/Puerto Rican-American audience. However, my daughter (who is white and black) and I (who am white) ABSOLUTELY loved this show. The drama was addictive. We have been waiting and waiting and waiting for another season....but nothing! We really hope they bring it back at some point.
