About the show
On October 4, 2016 The CW has launched a new romantic fantasy dramedy series No Tomorrow. The series is adapted from a 2012 Brazilian series Como Aproveitar o Fin do Mundo, and developed and executive produced by Corinne Brinkerhoff with Maggie Friedman, Ben Silverman, Brad Silberling, Scott McCabe, Sean Canino and Tory Stanton. Globo TV International, Electus Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios are behind the production of the series.
Evie (Tori Anderson), a straight-laced QC specialist with a strong aversion to risk-taking falls for Xavier (Joshua Sasse), a free-spirited adventurer who is convinced that the end of the world is near – eight months and twelve days away, to be precise. This belief is what makes him so easy-going and allows him to enjoy every moment. Xavier convinces Evie to come up with her own “apocalyst”, but Evie has yet to be convinced that the apocalypse is imminent.
Positive reviews, viewership and renewal potential
The series premiered with a reasonably large audience of 1.51 million viewers a 0.5 demo rating and a share of 2, yet the number deteriorated quickly, losing half of its viewers by the second episode. The critical reviews are mostly positive, hailing the refreshingly optimistic and upbeat premise and script, although there's some criticism of the tropes that the script structure is based on. No Tomorrow has a 7/10 IMDb score and 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, and seems to have a reasonable amount of potential to carry it over into the second season. Stay tuned, and we will inform you when appropriate announcements are made by The CW.
Season 1 recap
The freshman season of The CW's popular fantasy dramedy No Tomorrow has ended on January 17, 2017. The show has found an audience that is not record-breaking, but may still take it into the next season, although the season finale was dangerously close to season low, drawing just 0.58 million viewers, and suffering a significant loss since the premiere ratings of 1.5 million curious viewers. The thirteen episodes of the apocalyptic-themed rom-com garnered positive viewer response and critical reviews. The season finale portrayed Xavier continuing his work on saving the world and preventing the apocalypse, and Evie on a brink of a huge life change that would mean parting with Xavier. Will we ever find out what turns their fate take? Only if The CW renews No Tomorrow for another installment, and it is not yet clear whether or not that will happen. Stay with us for the latest news.
