The macabre roots of the terrifying urban legends familiar to many are at the core of the True Nightmares docu-series airing on Investigation Discovery since 2015. It is written by Joe Escalante and Pat Rogers, executive produced by Edward Barbini, Jeff Kuntz, Tim Baney and Mike Masland, and hails from Wilma TV. The second season debuted on October 1, 2016.
Todd Robbins, the charismatic presenter of the show with a well-known interest in the arcane, tells three different stories per episode through dramatic reenactments, weaving them together with his Twilight Zone style narration. The scary stories from our childhoods that we remember so well throughout our lives often have real-life roots behind them β true crimes that have transformed with time into urban myths.
