Series information and premise
This cooking competition with elements of sabotage titled Cutthroat Kitchen has been on the air since 2013 and has launched its fifteenth season last November, 2016. The show’s executive produced by Shauna Minoprio, Julia Cassidy, Melissa Stokes and Michael Davies, and hails from Embassy Row. Regular judges for the current season are Jet Tila, Simon Majundar, Antonia Lofasso and Richard Biais.
The show follows an already familiar format with four chefs and three rounds of elimination-based competition. Besides straightforward cooking challenges host Alton Brown offers chefs opportunities to sabotage other contestants, holding an auction for the highest bidder for a chance to walk away with items like changes in ingredients and equipment, garnishing of cooking time and movement restrictions. Judges make a decision based solely on taste, presentation and on whether the task was completed properly and the dish is in fact the one required.
Overall ratings and a potential season 16
Since the show has been running, an impressive 178 episodes over 15 seasons have been filmed for Cutthroat Kitchen. And with an overall rating of 7.1 out of 10 stars on IMDb and 7.4 out of 10 on TV.com one could assume that the show is still very strong and should have long been renewed for a 16th installment. However, after the second episode of Cutthroat Kitchen, the series somehow disappeared from our TV screens and the only information out there is a Twitter post by the great Alton Brown himself, as he announces to take a break from Cutthroat Kitchen – in a Microwave no less.
So far, neither Alton nor the Food Network have mentioned anything with regards to a cancellation or renewal of this long running show. At this point it go either way. We will just have to wait and see what will happen in the future. Until then, stay tuned and we will update you as soon as we get to hear more.
I get the feeling it's not Food Network all to blame on this, but also that Alton wanted to pursue other culinary "adventures". He had his tour he did across country, and according to the promo above via Twitter, he was pursuing something on the internet. If i recall right, he said doing CK was extremely labor intensive. Maybe he's the "hold out"? Given that FN doesn't have jack-diddly-squat good in the works (how many times can they show the same Best Thing I Ever Ate reruns from 2010????), I'd guess it's Alton who's taken a step back.
Cutthroat Kitchen is one of the best shows on food network. I hope it returns and soon. It's too many other shows that should've been axed. I loved Cutthroat Kitchen and all of the sabotages. ?
? What were you guys at food network thinking about... Alton is the best... Funny. The chefs loved the challenges, and we did too... So, bring it on!!! ?

Cutthroat kitchen is a great fun competitive show, so much of TV now days is negative violent and repulsive. It seems when there is something great on they make a short run of it which is sad. Bring back cutthroat kitchen.
? People should do a network stand down and not watch food network at all during the time slot for cut throat kitchen!!!

When the food network is dominated by cupcakes, baking, and junior chefs Cutthroat Kitchen was a welcome relief of roaring good fun. Alton Brown is hysterical and I can't even begin to imagine why food network would shoot themselves in the foot by axing the best show they had.
Watching Cutthroat Kitchen on Netflix is Awesome , Please Renew the show, Alton Brown is really funny guy and the chefs are funny too and the sabotages on the show is crazy!!!!
