Food Network Star Kids is a new reality cooking competition series launched on August 22, 2016 on Food Network. The show is a spinoff of the Food Network Star, a popular program that’s been on the air since 2005. Actress and food expert Tina Mowry and food writer, photographer and TV presenter Donal Skehan are the hosts of the series which hails from Triage Entertainment.
The show introduces ten young contestants from around the United States who compete in a variety of culinary challenges as well as on-camera talent contests. The premiere episode featured a 30-second live number where the contestants had to present themselves to the hosts. The 6-episode freshman season will end with one of the talented young chefs becoming the champion and getting their own program on Food Network and a feature article in the Food Network Magazine. Special guest appearances will be featured throughout the season, with comedian Loni Love, and YouTube stars Elise Strachan and Gabriel Conte stopping by.
