General information and cast
The British reality TV series Eden originally premiered on Channel 4 on 18th July 2016 with nine episodes. However, due to poor ratings only four episodes aired and the series returned on August 7th, 2017 with the remaining five episodes, which were organized into a second series. The show hails from the production company KEO films and is executive produced by Andrew Palmer and Coleen Flynn.
Filmed on an isolated Scottish peninsula – the beautiful Cul na Croise Bay, Ardnamurchan, Lochaber – and completely cut off from the rest of the country, 23 men and women venture out there to literally build a new life, society and self-sufficient community. This is the only purpose for them being there and it is their only task. It is them, who decide how to build shelter and where, how to organize themselves and how to feed everyone. They were also allowed to leave any time, if they didn’t want to finish the experiment, however, this was subject to specific protocols they would then have to follow.
