Series concept and info

A DIY Network reality television series, Yard Crashers has been on the air since 2008. The series is produced by Big Table Media and currently hosted by Chris Lambton. Bill Swan, Peter Holmes, Christy Melton and Kristel DeVries serve as executive producers. It is a part of Crashers set of DIY shows, which also includes House, Kitchen and Bath Crashers. The current 17th season of the program premiered on April 1, 2017.

Chris Lambton is a professional landscaper and a Bachelorette alum, who revamps neglected backyards together with his wife Peyton. He waits for prospective participants at a home improvement store and follows the shoppers to their homes and renovates their yards in a very short period of time. Sometimes the renovations are thematic, such as Asian or Old World-inspired, others are made to fulfill their owners’ dreams, but Chris and Peyton are still the ones making the designer decisions.

Popularity and renewal prospects

Season 16 of Yard Crashers came out on the DIY network on Saturday, April 1, 2017 with two back-to-back episodes. In this cycle of the program Chris and his team will take on all kinds of backyard projects, from Mediterranean-style garden and modern Zen oasis to a beer garden and waterfront two-tiered deck. There is a reason Yard Crashers has been so popular with viewers for so many seasons and currently boasts a high approval score of 8 out of 10 on IMDb – Chris’s creativity and his team’s talents are simply unrivaled when it comes to creating inviting backyards. We are expecting to hear a renewal announcement soon for Yard Crashers Season 18.

Yard Crashers is the best thing that DIY has going for it, including all the design shows. Not a big fan of programs that are only geared towards the rich. Only change I would make, besides bringing it back, would be to change the host. Chris Lambton, not a big fan. Bring back Ahmad or Matt or try someone new.
