Vice Does America is a travelogue/reality series that premiered on July 6, 2016 on Vice. It is executive produced by Brendan Fitzgerals and Nomi Ernst Leidner, with Jedd Thomas serving as a co-producer. The freshman season contains seven episodes and stars Wilbert L.Cooper, Martina De Alba and Abdullah “The Kid” Saeed.
The series features VICE staff road tripping across the US during the 2016 election campaign and getting acquainted with the electorate. The self-proclaimed premise of the show is to learn what Americans think about the presidential candidates and what their preferences are. It does, however, present a very skewed perspective, praising and empathizing with Clinton supporters and framing Trump supporters as inferior, racist or plain stupid. There’s obviously nothing wrong with promoting a certain opinion, but proclaiming neutrality in this case is simply dishonest.
